How long campaign modern warfare 3

The game has one main goal: tracking down the leader of the Russian forces, Vladimir Makarov. I was surprised, towards the conclusion of the game, at how strongly I felt at the ending [spoiler averted]. These are characters we've fought with before on the battlefield, smoked a cigar with, shared our bullets with, and swapped war stories with.

To have evoked this emotional response in us who have lived in the Modern Warfare story arc is no surprise. I applaud the fact we've finished the story line with Modern Warfare 2. This game doesn't need a drastic rewrite of the story.

It doesn't need new characters, as we want to love Price and Soap the way they were. This is a game that rocks your testosterone, adrenaline and endorphins, as you are fighting in a constant state of war chaos. You have one thing only on your mind: find Makarov somewhere in the smoke and fire, and give him what he deserves. The co-op version of Multiplayer rocks! He attempted to stop the massacre, but failed due to his injuries.

A medic comes to his aid and saves his life as the flashbacks end. Price decides not to shoot Yuri as he "bought himself some time The two follow up a lead on Makarov's suspected fortress, thanks to intel provided by Baseplate MacMillan.

They head to Berlin an in attempt to reach the safehouse and save Vorshevsky's daughter, but are too late and the helicopter with the girl inside gets away. Team Metal tells Price of their failure to rescue the daughter, and that they took her to a diamond mine in Siberia , where her father, the President, is also located.

Both Task Force and Team Metal set out a joint rescue operation to save them. The team are successful in rescuing the Vorshevsky's, however, not everyone was able to escape; Sandman and other members of Team Metal sacrificed their lives for their allies and did not get onto the extraction helicopter, keeping the enemies busy. They are then presumably killed by the collapsing mine. Sergeant Derek "Frost" Westbrook was at a different part of the mine during the operation, as revealed in the Special Ops mission, " Black Ice ".

Unlike the other Team Metal members, he managed to escaped safely. Following the rescue of the Vorshevsky's and the end of the conflict between America and Russia, Task Force has been reinstated. Price and Yuri focus on Makarov and try to find his location of hiding. They manage to find him at the Hotel Oasis in Dubai three months later in thanks to intel by Nikolai.

They are first seen putting Juggernaut armor on in a van as Makarov's men shoot it but to no avail. They eventually start infiltrating the hotel with the armor and their machine guns and are virtually unstoppable until a helicopter shoots them while in an elevator.

Their armor catches fire, forcing them to shed it. They now have only four minutes to find Makarov, so the two then head to the restaurant where he was reported to be.

They see him running up to the roof of the building, but are being fired at by rockets from another helicopter. The rockets cause the atrium to begin to collapse. The floor collapses, and Price narrowly escapes falling to his death.

After clambering up, he sees that Yuri has been impaled by a piece of debris from the explosion, and he tells Price to go on without him and stop Makarov, as he tries to pull the metal rod out of his abdomen. As Price runs to the roof, he sees Makarov try and escape via the helicopter, but Price manages to jump onto it.

He punches one of the pilots and pulls him out. The co-pilot tries to shoot him with a pistol, but Price dodges it, shooting the helicopter instead. He is then stabbed in the throat. Price then manages to divert the helicopter back to the roof of the hotel where it crashes. Price wakes up to see the glass about to shatter. He sees Makarov getting out of the crashed helicopter and the two of them race for a pistol they see on the floor. As Price is about to grab it, Makarov steps on his hand, wielding it first.

As he is about to shoot Price, he is caught off-guard by Yuri as he comes in and shoots him right before he is able to finish Price. Makarov then shoots him back, ultimately killing him. He then wraps the cable around a beam. The glass they are fighting on finally breaks and the two fall through but Makarov is hanged by the cable around his neck.

Police sirens are then heard outside the hotel as the credits start rolling. The player wielding an ACR 6. Attendees were able to experience multiplayer gameplay two months before the game's release. The core multiplayer gameplay has been likened to a spiritual combination of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare and Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 but with several major additions:.

Every time a player enters Prestige mode they may choose one of the following rewards from the Prestige Shop :. A completely new feature is the addition of a ranking system similar to Multiplayer's. The player earns experience points in Survival and Mission Modes, unlocking new missions for mission mode and new weapons, equipment, perks for Survival Mode. It features various missions such as timed missions or objectives, as opposed to Survival Mode's wave-based gameplay.

The waves are randomized, yet increasingly difficult, so that in the later stages of the game, players can expect to face multiple Juggernauts , Dogs and Suicide Bombers strapped with C4 and enemy air support. But now you get these behemoths like Pirates of the Caribbean and Transformers and they are just explosion and spectacle. Most people will defend them by saying it doesn't matter, they're just about fun. Maybe we're falling into that trap with Call of Duty.

Perhaps we should expect more from our games. I am curiously heartened by this. I've contributed toward the problem, of course, by awarding Modern Warfare five stars — a decision I stand by. But I am also a huge fan of indie and art games; I was transfixed by Robin Hunickie's explanation of thatgamecompany's beautifully strange Journey at GameCity just a week before I reviewed MW3.

I want new, innovative games too, and judging by the current flourishing of the indie games sector, there is a growing audience for offbeat, unorthodox experiences. It could be that gamers are undergoing a process of genre fatigue; it might be something to do with this console life cycle coming to an end. And although it's a pleasing game and critically it's great, it's solid, there's a feeling of disappointment that it's not more than we expected. Someone will be looking to step into this space — it should have been Battlefield really, but someone is surely looking to please these people who are so fed up with Modern Warfare.

A vast, ambitious RPG that seeks to create an infinite number of quests, which will embrace every individual gamer. Is it sufficiently different from Elder Scrolls IV? Does that matter when ambition and scale are such a major part of the package?

How do we approach that paradigm as reviewers? One thing there mustn't be is an irreparable disconnect between game journalists and game buyers. We should be in this together — if we're not communicating about games in the same way, something quietly terrible has happened. Modern Warfare 3 reviews: why is this the most hated game on the web?

It's been greeted with critcal acclaim and, probably, record-breaking sales. So why do internet forums and comment sections despise Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 so much? Call of Duty: Modern Warfare So what is happening? With the potential to be a brisk jaunt like the last game or a full-fledged campaign like the earlier titles, it felt important to update this list the instant the campaign was completed and timed.

Surprisingly, despite a global narrative, this Call of Duty game is the shortest at just over four hours. The campaign is memorable and takes the player all over the world in rich and detailed environments, so the short time is not reflective of the massive hard drive space that it takes up. There are plenty of secrets and spooky side quests lurking in Black Ops Cold War , but even completionists have reported the game can be fully concluded in 8.

Bad news for anybody hoping that the franchise was going to be putting more focus on the single-player aspects of the game. The two shortest games are the most recent two games. The good news, however, is that both campaigns are pleasant experiences. While the hotly anticipated Call of Duty: Vanguard is an hour or two longer than the one preceding it, there is a notable lack of completionist content.

Outside of a few achievements, there aren't any big secrets lurking around. Once the campaign is done, there's not much reason to dig any deeper. Modern Warfare 's campaign was highly acclaimed upon release, which just goes to show that length doesn't always correlate to quality.

Players will debate about whether the guns used in the game were good or not , but the story gets overall positive feedback. The main story of Modern Warfare takes just six hours to complete, with some people even rushing through it in five.

The other side of the spectrum is Ghosts. Ghosts is often regarded as the weakest Call of Duty entry, and its short and subpar campaign certainly didn't do it any favors.

Most people will also complete Ghosts within just six hours, and some people have reported completing it in four. Yes, the whole thing can be completed in one particularly lazy afternoon. Modern Warfare 3 served as the brilliant culmination of the original Modern Warfare series, but it was a painfully brief culmination. The campaign could be completed in four to six hours, making this one of the shortest Modern Warfare titles.
